no more cole (andrew)
Yesterday, in the basement of Schuba’s, it was decided that LA will be Cole’s last show with the band. I am bummed. Because the posting of these blogs are delayed, by the time this goes up, Cole will already be out.
This has been floating in the air for a long while now. I decided to not air our dirty laundry out on the blog, but it’s certainly been central to the recent happenings of Darwin Deez. They’re both dear friends of mine, and I wish it didn’t have to be this way. Greg and I, neither of us guitarists, are gonna cram to learn all the parts. We’ll pick up Miles in LA, the drummer who toured in the spring of 2010. And another Deez formation will be born.
Despite the sobering underbelly of our night, we were still able to have a marvelous show in Chicago. The club was sold out, 250 people. We almost felt like we were in the UK. The band slammed. As I am from nearby Detroit, Michigan, there were some childhood friends of mine in the audience. I was stoked to play for them for the first time. Before setting out for this tour, I was uncertain whether or not we’d be performing for a scattered 7 people per night, an audience of 13 lost in the lonely void of empty venues. But big crowds have turned out. Deez fever is spreading westward.
