a bloomin’ myth (andrew)
In America, there is this Australian themed restaurant called Outback Steakhouse. One of the trademark menu items there is something called the Bloomin’ Onion. It’s basically a giant onion, partially diced into a flowerlike shape, dipped in heaps of batter, and deep-fried to artery clogging perfection. We have discovered that this dish is an American myth, nowhere to be found in actual Oz.
There is also a no sign of Foster’s beer, which is apparently brewed in Manchester, England.
Burger King is called Hungry Jack’s, for some reason. Same logo, same whoppers, but different name.
And if there is one thing more ubiquitous in Australia than its beautiful white trunked eucalyptus trees, it is its 7-Eleven’s. There’s one on every fucking corner.
